Call for proposals for climate action plan
The city council resolution “Jena climate neutral by 2035” requires, among other things, “to have a climate action plan drawn up within one year of the resolution being passed”. Accordingly, there is now a call for tenders to commission a so-called climate office or institute to prepare a climate action plan (KAP). This KAP is to show which measures are necessary for Jena to become climate neutral by 2035. The tender is to be awarded in November 2021.
Citizen participation begins
Further, the aforementioned City Council resolution states, “The Advisory Council for Climate Protection and Sustainable Development shall participate in and accompany the process of developing and implementing the measures of the Climate Action Plan.”
In this sense, various civil society groups and citizens* have been participating in this participation process since July. The resulting Zuarbeiten are among other things by the Round Table Climate and Environment Jena (RTKU) and the Local Agenda 21 Jena e.V. handed over to the Climate Protection Advisory Council.
With this, we understand the participation process by citizens* and various groups as the beginning of a medium- and long-term cooperation.
