The climate office target GmbH will prepare a Climate Action Plan (KAP) within one year (probably by the end of 2022), in which “a climate neutrality scenario with the necessary measures is included, the implementation of which will lead Jena to climate neutrality by 2035”.
📢 Now: Citizen participation – your ideas are needed
Since March 2022, there is an online participation platform of the city of Jena. Ideas from all residents of Jena can be submitted on this platform.
Use the opportunity until the end of June 2022 at the latest directly on the online idea map.
✅ Until now: Preparation of the Climate Action Plan
For socially just climate protection measures, civil society groups and citizens of Jena were called upon to participate in the creation of the Climate Action Plan since summer 2021. The resulting ideas were compiled by the Advisory Council for Climate Protection and Sustainable Development. This “participates in the process of developing and implementing the measures of the climate action plan and accompanies it” – see call for proposals for climate action plan / citizen participation begins. The additional work on the climate action plan was handed over to the planning office at the end of February 2022.
Preparation of the Climate Action Plan
What happens afterwards?
According to the city council resolution, “the climate action plan will be presented and discussed in a freely accessible format of informal citizen participation immediately after its completion. […] Invitations to informal citizen participation will be issued publicly through various communication channels.”
